Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week is a week-long campaign dedicated to talking about mental health problems before, during and after pregnancy. The week is all about:
- raising public and professional awareness of perinatal mental health problems
- advocating for women and families impacted by it
- changing attitudes
- helping people access the information, care and support they need to recover

2023 Summit Keynote Announcement

NPQIC is honored to feature Dr. Ndidiamaka Amutah-Onukagha as our 2023 Summit keynote speaker. Dr. Amutah-Onukagha is a professor, scholar, mentor, and advocate for the underserved. She is a national leader in the field of Black Maternal Health, with over 15 years of research and experience. In fact, she has planned and led an annual conference on Black Maternal Health Inequities since 2018 that has drawn upwards of 1,500 attendees annually, with this year’s conference totaling 3,300 attendees.
Dr. Amutah-Onukagha is the inaugural Julia A Okoro Professor of Black Maternal Health at Tufts University School of Medicine and the founder and Director of the Center for Black Maternal Health and Reproductive Justice (CBMHRJ). One of the Center's units is the Maternal Outcomes for Translational Health Equity Research (MOTHER) Lab, which houses 35 future clinicians and public health professionals keen on eliminating maternal health disparities.
This year's NPQIC Summit theme is "Upstream Solutions to Maternal Health Equity." Registration will open early Summer 2023!”

Visiting Scholar Addresses Perinatal Health in Nebraska

Dr. Arthur James is a retired obstetrician, gynecologist, and pediatrician, and a nationally-renowned speaker on maternal and infant health. In April, Dr. James delivered a Grand Rounds presentation, "Birth EQUITY in Nebraska," in partnership with the UNMC College of Public Health Catalyst Fund. You can view the presentation here.

For those participating in the AIM Severe Hypertension Safety Bundle, data for Quarter 1 can also be entered into the AIM portal.
