Help please - MUSCLE NEEDED! - Sunday 29th November
We are looking for volunteers to help clear a laurel bed on Sunday 29th November from 10am. We need to remove the dull old laurels to make way for some wonderful ornamental grasses. With enough people to help, it shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours. Many hands….

Delicious breakfast butties will be provided to fuel the hard workers, and when the work is done we can enjoy a drink together. The job is quite simple: carting the old laurels out to a skip, then bringing in about 1 ton of topsoil, as well as another 2 tons of gravel to resurface the Gardening Team’s area, which is becoming rather muddy under foot.
Some great volunteers are coming along from Kilburn Cosmos Rugby Club, but we could do with as much extra help as we can get!

So if you fancy some fresh air and exercise, or just to give moral support, please come along to lend a hand.
Christmas Carols - Tuesday 15th December from 6 pm
Christmas Carols in the Dell are the perfect way to celebrate the festive season. Our little park looks magical when it’s all lit up at night. Come and sing along with the fabulous St. Gabriel’s Church choir around the Christmas tree. Father Christmas will be there with treats for your children, as will hot mulled wine made to a top secret recipe, mince pies and other Christmassy nibbles. The choir will start at about 7pm. ADMISSION IS FREE!

New play equipment arriving
Great news! The new play train is due to be installed during the week of 23rd November. And thanks to some extra money from Brent Parks, we are also able to install a tepee and some Totem poles. The kids will love this fantastic new addition to the play area.

The play area will be shut for a few days while the works are done. We apologise. But the improvements will be well worth the short inconvenience.
Mapesbury Dell to close during January 2016
The Dell will be shut from 4th January for resurfacing works. We hope this won’t last for more than 3 weeks, but it all depends on the weather. Again we apologise for any inconvenience.

Once the works are finished our rather tired and worn Breedon gravel surface will look as wonderful as when it was first laid ten years ago [photo left].

David Gee’s retirement
David Gee, who has been a fantastic trustee and great contributor to the Dell is retiring from the Trust for personal reasons. His invaluable help with organising events and his great contribution as part of the gardening team, to say nothing of his dry humour, will be sorely missed.

New Trustees
We are delighted to announce that Neha Bailhache, Matilda Velevitch and Jacqui Pelham have all volunteered to become trustees and provide much needed support with the ever busier workload of the Trust. Their appointment is, of course, subject to ratification at our AGM next year.

£400 from MaPRA
MaPRA, our local resident’s association, has very generously given the Trust a cheque for £400 to support our work. The money was generated from their biennial gardens Open Day. Many thanks to MaPRA and all the people who worked so hard to make their Open Day such a success.

Help us fund the improvements
Thanks to the
£16,000 grant from BIFFA Award, the Trust is able to replace the play train, plant a new grass bed and resurface the Dell. But an additional £6,000 is coming from the Trust's own funds. This will leave us a bit short. If you’d like to help us with this, you can donate directly through MyDonate or EasyFundraising below. (When you shop online, the seller pays a small percentage to Mapesbury Dell at no cost to you!) All and any help is very gratefully received.
