Mulberry House School to sponsor Mapesbury Dell
Mapesbury Dell Trust is delighted to announce that Mulberry House School has agreed to sponsor Mapesbury Dell and its events. This excellent local school, which uses the Dell from time to time as its ‘outdoor classroom’, is an independent, family-run establishment providing children aged between 2-7 years with the very highest standards of education and care. They still have spaces for this academic year. Please see below for more...
It's our children's party this Sunday!! Mr Marvel will be there. Will you? Come and party between 2 and 4.30pm. Please bring your cakes for the cake stall! The money we make from cake and drink sales goes towards looking after the Dell. So, lovely people, get baking!
Mulberry House School, established by Bethan Lewis-Powell in 1989, works closely with parents to ensure that each child’s first experience of school is a secure and happy one. The head teacher is involved in both the running of the school and teaching and learning, offering a broad and balanced curriculum to give children experiences of literacy, mathematics, personal, social and emotional education, citizenship, science, design and technology, the creative arts, geography, history, drama, music, cookery, physical education, computing and Mandarin. The extracurricular clubs available include yoga, chess, French, Spanish, netball, politics, debating, philosophy and STEM.

With the support of an Art Specialist, the children refine and develop their skills while also benefiting from exposure to a wide range of media and tools. Children receive specialist music tuition from the age of two with the belief that music is key to development. Singing is something that all children enjoy and is one of the first experiences children have as creative and self-expressive beings. The children begin learning about rhythm and beat through the use of percussion instruments, moving on to reading music and playing the recorder in the Prep classes, as well as perform at regular concerts and stage productions. This enables children to expand their musical horizons at their next school and have the opportunity to develop a lifelong passion for music.

Mulberry House strives to ensure that each child’s full academic potential is realised while individual talents are encouraged and nurtured. With the addition of a new roof garden and the implementation of Forest School activities, the children have the opportunity to build structures, make their own nature presses, hunt for ‘minibeasts’ and obtain cross-curricular learning through the use of the ‘outdoor classroom’ which is only minutes from the school premises. The aim is for Mulberry House School to be a place where children arrive eagerly each day and depart with a sense of achievement and pleasure.
