School gardening in winter?

You betchya!  The Lettuce Learn team is in full force this winter thanks to Parkway's Suncatcher.  We are also offering a HCLF school garden grant (Due Jan 29) and a Garden Math & Literacy workshop (Feb 20th).  Of course we're busy raising funds to make sure we can fully support school gardens throughout 2016.  If you believe in the benefits of gardening with children, there are many ways to give (Round up at Bare Essentials, Seed Money, Investment).  Please consider gifting a school garden this holiday season and rest assured knowing your gift will keep growing all year through.
Thank you for believing in gardens as outdoor classrooms,

What else is new with Lettuce Learn?

{1} We're seeking an outreach & communications intern for the spring 2016 semester.

{2} We've partnered with HEN Garden Lab at our ASU Child Development Center location. Our flagship site will now serve both preschool children and university nutrition students!

{3} Shannon Carroll has been working non-stop at Parkway, utilizing the sun's heat to grow all year long in the Suncatcher greenhouse.  Read about her latest adventures at Parkway by checking out the Parkway Garden blog.

{4} The Mustard Seed Market donated over 200 plants to our pollinator garden projects at Parkway, Hardin Park, and Valle Crucis.  Be sure to thank them while you're picking up your gardening gifts! They're open Wed-Sat until Christmas this year!
