Dear Perkins Alumni/ae Community,
This is an unprecedented time for us all: for each you, as you are navigating continued ministries and worship in the time of COVID-19, and for Perkins, as we prepare for the shift to online courses starting March 23 for our students and faculty. We are in a rapidly evolving situation at Perkins and we wanted to be in touch with our alum community with several updates:
As you are probably already aware, Perkins —with all of SMU— will begin online classes after this week's Spring Break through April 6. In addition, Perkins has postponed or cancelled all events through the end of April.
Updates from Perkins can be found here or on our social media channels: Facebook, @PerkinsTheologySMU; Twitter, @PerkinsSMU; and Instagram, @PerkinsSMU. To stay informed about the latest updates from SMU, visit this special section.
Please remember our admissions team as they continue to work diligently to solidify the class that will begin their studies in the fall.
Most of all, we want you to know that you are in our prayers. For those who pastor local churches, yesterday was a testament to your creativity and faithfulness as you live-streamed sermons and worship services to your scattered congregation, creating community through technology. For those in other ministry and leadership roles, we know you are finding ways to continue to support those with whom you work, and to bring Good News in the midst of uncertainty.
As you support others, may you be supported by the One who reminds us to 'be not afraid.'
