Ask Elaine

Q: I want to get my Mom some plants for Mother’s Day that will attract butterflies. What can I get at your plant sale?
A: Consider annuals like petunia, marigold, nasturtium, verbena and zinnia. These plants will bloom all summer in the ground and in pots on patios, balconies and decks. Some perennials we'll have are bleeding heart, white and blue gayfeather, butterfly weed, and fall-blooming phlox in pink, lavender or white.

Good for you for thinking of Mom and creating wildlife havens for butterflies! See you at the Plant Sale!
—Elaine Fogerty,
Executive Director
