#GET TO KNOW OUR PARTNERS:

-TGE CHAIR FOR 2018-

Swiss Philanthropy Foundation was established in 2006 as a non-profit hosting foundation to provide philanthropists with a simple, cost-effective way to achieve their charitable objectives.

Since 2008, the Foundation played an active role in the Transnational Giving Europe Network supporting Cross-Border Philanthropy in Switzerland and in Europe. A decade later, the Foundation is delighted to endorse the chairmanship of the network for the year to come and to host the next Steering Committee in Geneva.

With great enthusiasm in its new position for 2018, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation is committed to engage with the 18 partners in order to promote and expand transnational philanthropy.

BREXIT AND ITS IMPACT ON CHARITABLE CAUSES

Our UK partner, the Charities Aid Foundation has conducted research on this topic and here are the key findings:
  • A majority of charity CEOs feel the EU Membership Referendum result will have a negative impact on their charity or cause area.
  • Total donations by the UK public have remained steady since 2005, at around £10 billion per year – through financial crises, recessions and other major events.
  • Since the Referendum, levels of UK giving – in terms of donating money and volunteering – have stayed consistent.
