Decipher the keys of the mole-rat's longevity : Fondation pour la recherche en Physiologie

Imagine a small rodent, as big as a common mouse, which lives in colonies in Eastern Africa in underground galleries they dig. The main difference between mole-rats and mice is that, whereas mice live 2 to 3 years, naked mole-rats live more than 30 years, without developing cancer, cardiovascular diseases or neurodegenerative diseases. This exceptional longevity makes the naked mole-rat a fascinating model to study ageing, its prevention and underlying mechanisms.

The purpose and goals of the Fondation de Recherches Physiologiques is to raise funds allowing conducting scientific programs aiming at deciphering the keys of this exceptional longevity and translating these discoveries to human health.

This is the spirit of the Charity Dinner which will be held on March 13th in Paris.

Peacebuilding : Foundations for Peace

Foundations for Peace is an international Network of activist funders promoting peace and social justice in conflict regions. Each member operates in a unique conflict environment and seeks to support peacebuilding activities appropriate to context. We know the added value of using indigenous funders to embed sustainable peace programmes in conflict areas. We know the political complexity, have reach and access, we connect with those most impacted.

Philanthropists and development agencies can learn from our experience and work in partnership with us to ensure sustainable long-term benefits for local communities impacted by conflicts.

We are delighted to be part of TGE who will enable tax-efficient philanthropic donations to our local members.

Aid to refugees : Proactiva Open Arms

Proactiva Open Arms is a Spanish NGO specialised in surveillance and rescue missions of boats carrying people who need help in the Aegean and Central Mediterranean sea, as well as in raising awareness. Our main mission is to rescue refugees, arriving to Europe fleeing wars, persecution or poverty, from the sea. We also work with an essential team of specialised psychologists on land, to support the lifeguards at all stages of their work.

With the help of lots of people who cooperate with donations, we were able to increase our resources and save more lives every day. The tax-effective giving enabled by TGE facilitates and encourages donations throughout Europe.

We are where they need us. We are where lives are at risk.

Empowering girls and women : Womanity

Guided by the vision of a world where all women and men have equal and full social, economic, and political participation, the Womanity Foundation undertakes to empower girls and women in developing countries to shape their future and accelerate progress within their communities.

TGE has allowed us to build strong partnerships with donors, which are key in the conduct of our projects.

To date the Womanity Foundation has supporter 11 social entrepreneurs, over 33,000 school girls (and boys) in Afghanistan, launched a yearlong Web Development Course, including over 300 hours of instruction in HTML, CSS, JavaSCript and PhP in two of the largest girls'public high schools in Kabul, Afghanistan, brought messages of women's empowerment to hundreds of thousands of radio listeners and provided an ecosystem of business support for its WomenChangeMakers Fellows.

Tackle food poverty : KellyDeli Foundation

Launched in 2016 by good entrepreneurs Jerome Castaing and Kelly Choi, the KellyDeli Foundation is an independent UK charity who aims to tackle food poverty through supporting bold ideas.

The KellyDeli Foundation’s inaugural project is called The Good Kitchen; a social enterprise accelerator for organisations reimagining the food system and tackling food poverty. Selected organisations will receive funding, business training and mentorship.

The core funds for the Foundation are donated by the subsidiary businesses of the KellyDeli group. As you can imagine, ensuring the different subsidiaries (from 7 countries!) could donate effectively was very important to the businesses and the Foundation. As such, Transnational Giving was very helpful in making the process as smooth and efficient as possible.

May we also inform you about the upcoming Spring of Philanthropy, the "First European Philanthropy Day".
