College student wins film competition

An Epping Forest College student has won a national film-making competition and in doing so has landed himself a crew role in a feature film.

Deividas Balciunas, 18, from Buckhurst Hill - a second year Level 3 Creative Media Production student - wowed the judges with a short music video he had produced as part of his coursework.

The MMBF Amar Adatia Award is named after The Dangerous Game actor/producer who holds the world premiere of his hit film in Leicester Square next month.

Deividas wins a SLR camera and a crew role on a feature film in August.

His college tutor, Howard Goldshaft, said: "The media team are thrilled for Deividas. His positive attitude personifies the spirit of the UAL Level 3 Creative Media course at Epping Forest College.

"There were several contenders from the group for the award but perhaps Deividas’s work just had the edge reflecting his excellent work ethic and genuine passion for film."
