Recent Events

11th EU Research Liaison Officers Meeting


More than 50 representatives of 18 UNICA member universities engaged in discussions on H2020 financial issues, ethics support, research projects' evaluation and the future of the EU Framework Programmes at the 11th UNICA EU Research Liaison Officers meeting, hosted by the University of Vienna and IST Austria, 28-29 November 2016. ​

8th Scholarly Communication Seminar


The participants of the 8th UNICA Scholarly Communication Seminar, 1-2 December 2016, looked at  the pros and cons of different national approaches to Open Access and got insights into the up-to-date Open Access legal framework from the EC DG Research and Innovation. The meeting was hosted by the University of Lausanne.

Members in the Spotlight

University College Dublin, together with 9 other HEIs, has launched a unique online platform studentvolunteer.ie that matches students’ interests with volunteering opportunities. The portal aims to enhance students’ awareness of their role in solving challenges such as social exclusion and ageing population. Read more...
On 2-4 December, Tallinn University of Technology hosted the biggest robotics competition in Europe - ROBOTEX16. During the three-day event, 23 international robotics competitions were held and 40 creative workshops gathered more than 3,000 participants. Read more...

European Commission Projects

The Final Event of the RUMI project: Network of Moroccan Universities for Inclusive Education will take place on 17-18 January 2017 at Université Abdelmalek Essaâdi, Tétouan, Morocco. It will bring together the project partners as well as high-level officials from the Moroccan ministries, Presidents of 9 Moroccan partner universities, and representatives of local and international NGOs. The conference will also mark the official establishment of the national Moroccan Network for Inclusive Education. Read more....
