UNICA will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome with the Rectors Seminar: The Treaty of Rome after 60 years: Achievements and challenges of European Higher Education, 23-25 March 2017. The Seminar is hosted by Sapienza University of Rome in cooperation with the Universities of Rome "Tor Vergata", "Roma Tre" and "Foro Italico". Register by 3 March 2017!
The Europe-China Rectors Seminar, hosted by Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, 5 May 2017, will bring together representatives of academic leadership from UNICA member universities and their counterparts from more than 50 top Chinese HEIs. The Seminar is organised with the support of the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the EU and in the framework of the LEAD project: Governance and Academic Leadership of Chinese and European Universities in the Context of Innovation and Internationalisation. Registration is open!

On 8 February 2017 in Brussels, UNICA President Prof. Luciano Saso and Secretary General Mrs Kris Dejonckheere met Mr Jianmin Li, Minister-Counsellor of the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the EU, to discuss cooperation in the framework of the LEAD Europe-China Rectors Seminar.

Digital learning for sustainable development and recent changes in learning tools, spaces and technologies will be explored at the 7th UNICA GREEN Workshop: Learning Interfaces, Tallinn University, 26-28 April 2017

The 7th UNICA PR & Communication Workshop: Delivering the right content to the right people: the importance of content strategy, University of Lausanne, 18-19 May 2017, will explore the changing role (and changing audiences) of university communication channels and look at how we define "good content" today. Online registration is open!

The 2nd UNICA ‘University, Culture and the City' Conference: University as an Urban Cultural Institute. Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, 29-31 May 2017, will focus on the implementation of cultural diversity at universities and discuss how scientific research and academic culture can become a significant factor in the city's cultural life.

  • Last call for the ACADEMIC REFUGE Staff Training: The staff training course, to be hosted by the University of Oslo, 19-23 June 2017, is aimed at academic and administrative staff of all levels, especially those involved in welcoming refugees and threatened academics on campus.   • Successful end of the RUMI project: As an outcome of the three-year Tempus Structural Measures RUMI project coordinated by UNICA, the Moroccan Association for Inclusive Education was officially established on 18 January 2017, on the occasion of the project's Final Conference.
  • HousErasmus+ Regional Conferences: University staff members working in the area of international student support are invited to the upcoming Eastern Regional Conference (ELTE Budapest, 29-30 March 2017) and Western Regional Conference (Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, 27-28 April 2017).   • MarMOOC Seminar: The first training seminar of the MarMOOC project will take place at Université Ibn Tofail in Kenitra (Morocco), 20-21 April 2017. The MarMOOC Erasmus+ project was launched in early 2017 with an aim to create the first Moroccan free e-learning platform in 2019.
  • SAVE THE DATE! The dates of the Erasmus Without Paper Final Conference are now confirmed. The Conference will be held in Brussels on 25-26 September 2017.
