Be Smart. Have Hope. Let' s Pray
Se inteligente. Ten esperanza. Oremos
St. Paul's is praying for you! ¡San Pablo está orando por ti!
As you know: we only have until September 30 to get our Census response rates to where they need to be.Without an accurate count, we will not receive funding for the many services our communities need such a medical support, food assistance, schools, roads and economic development.
As of today, the national response rate was 63.8%; Texas was 58.9%; Hudspeth 20.9%; Culberson 23.3%; Jeff Davis 27%; Presidio 24.1%; and Brewster 33.3%
Census data informs federal government decision-making like state congressional representation, access to healthcare in localities, business/entrepreneurial investment, infrastructure, and many other federal assistance programs like head start, SNAP, Pell Grants and school lunch programs.
It is against federal laws and regulations for census information to be shared. Your responses are confidential and can only be used lawfully for statistical purposes. Census workers take an oath to protect responses. Violations are penalized, and a coalition of national organizations are committed to fight any breaches of these oaths and/or laws.
2020 is the first time the survey is on-line. We can arrange for a Census worker to call you by phone if you wish. It is in the Constitution that every person living in the US as of April 1, 2020 be counted. Citizenship is not a question. Include all people living in your household, even babies.
