Greetings all,

It is with a heavy heart that we tell you of the death of Lonn Taylor. He died yesterday, June 26, while at home in Fort Davis with his beloved wife Dedie. Lonn and Dedie moved to Fort Davis in 2002 after he retired from the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History where he was a curator for 20 years. They became members of St. Paul's not long after moving to Far West Texas. He has served the church in many ways from leading service to preserving our history. In April we celebrated Lonn and Dedie as Living Treasures for their many contributions to St Paul's and the Big Bend Communities.

He had a heart as large as Texas, a curiosity of the world and people that never ceased, and he loved a good story. He had a unique voice and a gift for telling stories. He will be missed greatly.

A memorial service will be held in late July or mid-August.

Our love and prayers go out to Dedie and the family and friends who love them.

"Go forth Lonn on your journey from this world,
in the love of God the F
ather who created you,
in the mercy of Jesus the Redeemer who suffered for you,
in the power of the Holy Spirit who keeps you in life eternal.
May you dwell this day in peace,
and rest in the presence of God."

Amen

Shalom,
Mike+
