Dear <<First Name>>,

My sincerest apologies for not getting a message out to you earlier than now. We’ve been hard at work this summer balancing attending meetings, keeping up with the most current information concerning COVID-19, and preparing the school for classes this coming fall.

After several discussions with multiple individuals and entities, including the Southern Union and KY-TN Conference, we are aiming to open school for in-person classes on August 12, 2020 at 8:00 AM. Our goal is to resume in-person classes during our normal school hours (Monday-Thursday from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM; Friday from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM).

I know the past few months have been especially difficult for everyone, but the Lord is continuing to bless our families as well as our students and staff. There will be further communication as events unfold. However, generally speaking, below are some of the new procedures that will be implemented for the 2020-2021 school year:
  • temperatures will be taken at the front door before entering the school building
  • masks will be worn inside the school building
  • social distancing will be observed both inside the school building as well as outdoors
  • hand washing will be required multiple times throughout the day
  • classrooms, as well as other parts of the school building, will be disinfected several times throughout the day as well as at the end of each school day
  • All teachers and staff will be tested for COVID-19 within a week before school resumes
Each teacher will be taking the time to teach and thoroughly train every student in the art of washing their hands properly, keeping surfaces clean, and properly wearing masks when appropriate.

Below is a link to our current reopening plan that contains more detailed information. This plan is subject to change before school resumes on August 12, but we will do our best to keep you informed of any changes that are made.

In closing, thank you for your patience as we work through many challenges during these unprecedented times. We know that God is in control of every event and we can trust Him completely. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to Adventist education. We miss you and are looking forward to having another amazing year!

Remember, only you can prevent forest fires!
God bless,
David Matthews
