Machynlleth Festival - Thank you and 2019 Preview

Back in August, many of us enjoyed a week of truly outstanding and memorable performances from so many wonderful musicians, alongside superb art in MOMA Machynlleth, and with such a warm welcome of all at The Tabernacle.

The festival was a huge success, and my heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it so, especially to our audiences who came from near and far. I thank our sponsors, supporters, every musician who appeared on stage, wonderful audience members and the volunteers and team at the Tabernacle who work tirelessly.  We are continually grateful to the Friends of The Tabernacle for their most generous support.

We were delighted to have BBC Radio 3 record a concert from this year’s festival, and to have welcomed BBC Music Magazine.  Do look out for a feature ahead of the 2019 Machynlleth Festival in the coming months.

I do look forward to seeing many of you next year and, as Christopher Cook so eloquently put it on the stage in Machynlleth this year, to “sharing adventures of the imagination that can only happen at a festival.”

Plans for the 2019 Machynlleth Festival are well underway and dates for your diaries are 18 - 25 August 2019. A hint of what’s in store is below…

Yours,
Julius Drake

Machynlleth Benefactors 2019
There is a new initiative with the aim of having forty supporters, each donating £250, in order to ensure that the Festival can continue.  In common with most music festivals, the revenue from ticket sales does not cover the cost of performances.

Unique benefactors’ events are in the pipeline, including a performance by the wonderful young cellist, Camille Thomas, playing solo Bach in Sir Simon Jenkins’ beautiful house in Aberdyfi. We are hoping over time to build up a group of at least one hundred benefactors which would provide the festival with the financial security it needs.  For more information please email info@moma.machynlleth.org.uk or click here
