Second Annual Climate Leadership Summit
On September 13, 2017, community members and representatives from cities across Indiana will join together for a day-long summit to discuss climate change impacts and solutions.
Last year's inaugural Climate Leadership Summit included participation from 13 cities, including attendance from 7 mayors (see 2016 highlights). The goal was to inspire action to create climate resilient communities across Indiana. This second summit is expected to have an even greater turn out, and it will include plenary remarks and panel discussions on topics such as green jobs, public health and youth engagement.

The Purdue Climate Change Research Center is a proud supporter of this event, and staff will be in attendance to share information about the Indiana Climate Change Impacts Assessment with community members.

View the letter to Mayors and urge your city to get involved. A list of cities confirmed for the 2017 event is available online.

Stories of Change
Documenting personal stories about climate impacts across Indiana
The Purdue Climate Change Research Center invites people who live and/or work in Indiana to share their personal connections to our climate. Do you have a story to share or would you like more information? Please contact Melissa Widhalm (IN CCIA coordinator) or see our May 2017 newsletter.

Climate Facts

Did you know?
Only 29% of Indiana adults say they discuss global warming at least occasionally. However, the majority of Hoosiers (64%) think climate change will be harmful to future generations. One of the primary goals of the Indiana Climate Change Impacts Assessment is to increase the dialogue about climate change across the state so we can reduce impacts and plan for a better future.
