In April, we went on a production trip to the Dominican Republic. There, we interviewed Peace Corps Volunteers, Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, former PC staff, and Dominican scholars and community leaders. Check out our photos below.
During the visit, we facilitated several powerful interviews, including:
- one with an 85-year old rebel commander, who had interacted during the 1965 revolution both with Peace Corps Volunteers and US Marines, and
- another one with a 7-year old girl from a fishing village, who explained to us what the word "peace" means to her.
We also spoke with the preeminent Dominican historian, Frank Moya Pons, who put the Peace Corps-Dominican Republic story in context for us.
We cannot wait to share these stories with all of you soon!
