Our supporters are everything to us...

It would be easy for us to get bogged down and disenchanted at times. For us, the work that our centre provides is obviously rewarding, but it's also hard work.

There are no holidays, no sleep-ins and no sick days. There is a constant battle to raise enough money to continue our work, and we can feel frustrated when overcome with senseless bureaucracy that does nothing more than dwindle our funds and waste our precious time.

But we keep going with our face to the sun knowing that our work is not fruitless. We see the benefit of our work each day when we look at the animals in our care and see them positively oozing health and happiness.

And when we receive support from strangers, we remember that we are not alone. Supporters like you mean everything to us, and the places you all emerge from and the stories you tell never cease to amaze us.

This month we wanted to pay a special tribute to some of our latest amazing supporters. From age 10 to 60, it's incredibly heartwarming to see the lengths they will go to for our rescue centre, and we want to say an earnest thank you.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your support.

Whether it's telling family and friends about our centre, donating items in our charity shops, visiting our rescue centre, giving up your time to volunteer in the centre or donating cash – everything you do to support us is vital, and we wholeheartedly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Meet Victoria

Victoria is just 10 years old, and a student of Laude San Pedro International College in Marbella. Her class has been studying persuasion as a part of public speaking. Each child in her class was asked to pick a charity and present a speech about the charity to the rest of the class. The class then voted on the project that they believed deserved the most support.

Victoria chose to support our rescue centre as her speech subject and passed the classroom challenge with flying colours. She was named one of six winners which means she won €250 for our rescue centre – enough to feed two of our rescued horses for an entire month.

Meet Tom

Tom recently ran the Torrevieja half marathon and raised an incredible €250 for us in the process.

Tom's asked that we put the money towards the new horse shelters we are currently building in our fields. "As summer fast approaches it’s essential that the horses, ponies and donkeys have a place to be sheltered from the intense heat," he says.

Thanks so much, Tom – and congrats on completing the half-marathon.

Meet Elaine

Elaine has been a supporter of our centre for many years now. She's previously worked in our charity shops, and in more recent years she has been putting herself through some extreme challenges in the name of fundraising.

Over the last two years Elaine has raised a total of €1741 by completing a tandem sky dive for her 60th birthday, and then climbing three mountains in succession for her 61st birthday.

Elaine already has her sights set on next year's challenge - the infamous and gruelling Tough Mudder competition. The event will see Elaine crawling through 12 miles of mud, climbing over obstacles and even crawling under electric fences.

As always, thank you.
