Community and Business Leaders Say "Cheese" during last Coffee and Conversations on Marchh 14th session.

Coffee and Conversation Anyone?

What’s the best way to have a conversation with friends? Invite them for coffee! That is just what Habitat’s CEO Matthew Grundy did when he invited various community leaders to join him for Coffee and Conversation to learn that Habitat not only builds homes; it builds communities as well.

According to Board member Jacob Dixon, “Coffee and Conversation is an interactive session that offers community members a chance to learn more about Habitat and its programs. It’s also a great way to expand our presence in the community and to gain new friends of our mission.”

Natasha Biasell, CEO of Ivy Public Relations said, “Coffee & Conversation was the perfect catalyst to bring together community members and stimulate some energy around how we can all work and ‘build’ together. Although I'm active in community-based organizations and somewhat familiar with the work of Habitat for Humanity, I walked away knowing much more about the impact of my local Habitat’s work and why my involvement really matters.”

Coffee and Conversation allows Habitat to reach out to the community to acquaint them not only with the scope of Habitat, but also to encourage them to participate in helping us to create vibrant neighborhoods for deserving families.  Guests also get a chance to meet one of our amazing homeowners and hear their story.

If you would like to attend our next Coffee and Conversation, which is set for May 9th, please call Cary Catalano at (559)355-0751, or email him here.

Left to Right - Habitat CEO, Matthew Grundy, Director of Development, Cary Catalano, and Kerry Hedrick, VP and Business Development Officer for Union Bank
Partnerships Matter!
Union Bank has been an active partner of Habitat Greater Fresno Area for nearly 20 years. Not only has Union Bank volunteered hundreds of hours to help build our homes, clean our neighborhoods, and invest time on committees and events, the Bank has also donated much needed resources for a host of our programs that impact the families and communities we serve.

During our recent Coffee and Conversations, Kerry Hedrick, Vice President and Business Development Officer of Union Bank, surprised Habitat CEO Matthew Grundy with a check for $15,000 from the MUFG Union Bank Foundation to help support Habitat programs.

"Union Bank's commitment to Habitat's mission of seeking to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope has never waivered, not even once, and for that, I am forever grateful," expressed Grundy.

During the check presentation, Kerry Hedrick told the group that “the Foundation mission is to make philanthropic investments that expand access to economic opportunity in low-and moderate-income communities, specifically in the areas of affordable housing, community economic development, education, human services and the environment, and Habitat Greater Fresno Area fits just perfectly into that mission.”

We couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Union Bank, for all of your support.
