The next meeting of the Practitioner and Volunteer Coordinator Network will take place on Thursday 27th May between 9.30 and 10.30am. It is hoped that this meeting will be "in person" at the Boulevard Centre.

Enterprise Development Programme - Equality - closes Friday 14th May
Support to charities and social enterprises working in the equality sector to make the transition to new enterprises or to grow existing ones.

Screwfix Foundation - closes Friday 14th May
Grants to registered charities for projects that fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and community facilities for those in need.

Thomas Pocklington Trust Grants - closes Friday 14th May
Grants for projects that support the delivery of positive outcomes for blind and partially sighted people aligned to the priority areas of education, employment, engagement, and collaboration and sustainability.

Youth Endowment Fund - closes Friday 14th May
Funding for organisations to support interventions to prevent children and young people who are at risk of being drawn into crime and violence, and to build up knowledge of what works to prevent this happening.

Grants to voluntary sector organisations for projects that promote fine arts and music.

Power to Change – Powering Up! Capacity Strengthening Support Programme - closes Monday 17th May
Tailored support package to increase community business leaders’ knowledge, to provide wellbeing support and to build peer relationships to boost recovery especially in communities hardest hit by COVID-19.

Heart Research UK and SUBWAY Healthy Heart Grants - closes Tuesday 18th May
Grants for not-for-profit organisations to support new, original and innovative projects that actively promote a healthy heart and help to prevent, or reduce, the risk of heart disease in local communities.
The BwD Community Fund, which we on behalf of the Borough Council, the Brian Mercer Trust and the Eric Wright Charitable Trust, is open for applications.
Organisations can apply for grants of up to £1000 under the scheme.

The Trustee Leadership Programme is an award-winning governance training initiative delivered by charity support agency Cause4 in partnership with the Clothworkers’ Company. Now in its 8th year, this programme was launched to empower those taking on governance roles to be confident in their duties and deliver effective leadership, training c. 500 Trustees a year. Upcoming summer course dates include:

Emerging Chairs Programme: a one-day course for existing Trustees seeking to take the step towards Chairing a board. This empowering course covers key issues such as Leadership, Chair-CEO relationships, fundraising, and marketing, and allows prospective and existing Chairs to share experiences and learning.

Trustee Leadership Programme: essential governance training for the new or aspiring Trustee, this course covers an overview of the sector, governance & strategic planning, financial management, and fundraising. It is further enhanced by an expert guest speaker and a charity matching session where attendees can meet charity leaders seeking board members. The online course is delivered in two parts:
