Funding to Initiate Community Led Affordable Housing Projects in England

The Near Neighbours programme offers small grants between £250 and £3,000, as seed funding for local groups and organisations who are working to bring together neighbours

Culture Recovery Fund: Continuity Support - closes Friday 27th August
Additional funding to help secure the future of arts and cultural organisations that have previously been supported by the Culture Recovery Fund in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ragdoll Foundation - closes Friday 27th August
Grants to support arts, cultural and youth-focused organisations working with children and young people through the arts, artists and creative media.

TDS Charitable Foundation - closes Friday 27th August
Funding for organisations that support landlords and tenants to improve standards and educate those involved in the private rented sector.

VCSE Health and Wellbeing Fund 2021-22 - closes Friday 27th August
Grants to voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations to run projects supporting responses to potential increases in paediatric respiratory infections during autumn/winter 2021.

Centre for Social Justice Awards - closes Tuesday 31st August
Financial awards recognising small grassroots charities and social enterprises who are proving themselves effective at preventing and tackling poverty.

Creative Lives Awards - closes Tuesday 31st August
An annual celebration of the achievements of voluntary and community-led creativity.

Eranda Rothschild Foundation - closes Tuesday 31st August
Grants for charities working in the fields of medical research, education and the arts.

Fondation Segré Conservation Action Fund - Conservation Action Grants - closes Tuesday 31st August
Grants to support charitable conservation organisations with on-the-ground conservation action aiming to improve the status of threatened animal species and their habitats around the world.

Hilden Charitable Fund - closes Tuesday 31st August
Grants for charities working in the areas of homelessness, penal affairs, asylum seekers and refugees, community based initiatives for disadvantaged young people (16-25), and projects in developing countries working on community development, education, and health (with particular interest in projects that address the needs and potential of girls and women).

Grants to support projects aimed at working towards the creation of a peaceful and just world.

Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust - Power and Accountability Programme - closes Tuesday 31st August
Grants to support people to create a world in which power is more equally shared, and in which powerful institutions are responsive and accountable to wider society and aligned with the long-term public interest.

Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust - Rights and Justice Programme - closes Tuesday 31st August
Grants to support projects aimed at promoting racial justice and equality of opportunity.

Stephen Lloyd Awards - closes Tuesday 31st August
Financial awards aiming to help create success by finding and nurturing innovative ideas and projects undertaken by start-up enterprises or social entrepreneurs that can lead to practical, sustainable social change, particularly those that address social problems at a systemic level.

Grants for charities undertaking projects to support disadvantaged and disabled children under 13 years of age.

Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust - closes Wednesday 1st September
Grants to animal welfare charities for projects or activities that benefit and protect animals, relieve the suffering of animals, address the conservation of wildlife or encourage a greater understanding of animals.

Kelly Family Charitable Trust - closes Wednesday 1st September
Grants for charities whose activities nurture and support family life.

Peter Cruddas Foundation - closes Wednesday 1st September
Funding for charities working to support disadvantaged and disengaged young people as they move towards pathways into education, training and employment.

Safety of Women at Night Fund - closes Wednesday 1st September
Funding for organisations to support interventions which focus on preventing violence against women and girls in public spaces at night.

Strategic Legal Fund - closes Wednesday 1st September
Grants to not-for-profit frontline organisations and community groups to support strategic legal work which benefits asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants who are experiencing disadvantage or discrimination as a result of their migration status.
► The Council's funding portal, Community Foundation for Lancashire's funding page (guidelines can be found here) and the Lancashire Police & Crime Commissioner's website provide exceptional resources for those seeking funding - including the Community Action Fund.
 
Here's what's going on this week

► Volunteers are needed to assist with leafleting for a forthcoming Police recruitment event, on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th September (10am to 8pm) or Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th September (10am to 4pm). The focus will likely be around Audley Sports and Community Centre. Please contact Mimi to learn more.
Friday 10th September is World Suicide Prevention Day, and you can find out how this will be commemorated in Blackburn and Darwen here and here.
Blackburn Carers are inviting people to come along to a Design your own Memory/Mindfulness Jar event on
Tuesday 14th September at Kingsway.
IMO's Annual Cricket Tournament takes place on
Sunday 18th December, featuring seven-a-side games involving six overs per team per game. The venue this year is Hoghton Cricket Club. Cost of entry is £70 per team. Contact Imran Motala on 07828 176678 or drop them an e-mail to learn more.
