A new little painting....

Happy December!

It is Advent!  Yay!  And for the first time ever, I feel peaceful about Christmas coming, as I am pretty much set with gifts (usually, I am feverishly making presents up until the end. I am ahead of schedule for once; praise the Lord!).  I hope this month is filled with joy for you all, with as little stress as possible.

So...  I have another a new painting!  Yes, inspiration struck, and I decided to do another (little) painting, and a video on how I gilded it with gold.  I'm not currently selling prints of this painting- I'm thinking I will use it in a greeting card design next year.  But the original painting itself is for sale!  Here's a picture.  I've entitled it "Agnus Dei" (Latin for "Lamb of God"):

"Agnus Dei" is a gouache painting with 23k gold.  It was done on an 8" x 10" sheet of Arches watercolor paper; the painting itself measures about 4.5" x 4.5."  It is signed and dated on the back, and comes with an 8" x 10" cloth-covered mat in pale gold.

It is available in the shop:

Gilding video:

I'll admit that I am still learning a bit when it comes to gilding with gold, but I thought it would be fun do do a little video on the process I'm using right now (I think I may experiment more in the future!).  Here's what took me about 40 minutes, condensed to 40 seconds.  Enjoy!

How I Gild Art

Many thanks to those who shared last month's newsletter (please let me know if I missed sending a postcard to anyone who shared!).   I'll note that there are still some Limited Edition prints left in the shop for anyone who is interested (and order by 12/12 with the code: FREESHIP12 at checkout, to get free shipping!).

Next up for me, I'll be focusing on Paschal Candles.  Easter may be a bit away, but when there is work to be done, deadlines seem to come up fast.

Right now, let me wish you all a most blessed Advent!
