Heartland Bike Share and Metro Transit Unite

For this year's Earth Day Omaha, we have partnered with Metro to bring you the two finest booths one could spend time at! Please join us at Elmwood Park on Saturday, April 23 from 11am-5pm.

Over the last several months, we have been working diligently to brand, equip, and release 100 brand new ebikes into our bike share stations. They will be available to the general public this Spring with a few of them on display at Earth Day Omaha. In true Earth Day fashion, we will also be handing out Zero Waste swag! 🥳♻️

One of our goals is for riders to have the ability to utilize Metro's bus bike racks to bridge gaps within their commute. Our friends at Metro will be talking transit, from their upcoming electric buses to their sustainability goals, and providing tutorials and info about activating your commute!

Meet our new cycling advocate. He's a real spokes-person!

We are happy to announce our new Community Manager - Ahmed Bushra! Ahmed (pictured above with our Executive Director, Benny Foltz) is a transplant from Sioux Falls, SD and has been an Omaha resident for just over three years now. He brings a background in information technology and management to Heartland Bike Share. In his free time, he is not the most competitive cyclist but does ride for transportation and leisure.

You may also catch him training and competing with the Nebraska Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team at NE BJJ. Ahmed also runs his own media company producing photo, video, and drone work which we are ecstatic about for upcoming projects and news to share with you all!
