Heartland B-cycle Nominated for Two Laurels Awards Presented by Omaha by Design
Omaha by Design hosts the Laurels Awards each year to honor organizations and individuals that are dedicated to building a more vibrant, livable city for all. We are happy to share that Heartland B-cycle was nominated for the Access & Mobility Award. This award recognizes an individual, group, organization, or business that has worked to enhance the way we move around the city and how neighborhoods connect to one another. Heartland B-cycle's Community Manager, Fiona Kennedy, was nominated for the Young Urbanist Award, recognizing an individual, under the age of 45, who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to making our metro an even better place to live, work, and play.

These nominations are a huge honor and we would like to thank our riders and partner organizations for supporting us to create a livable city for all.
North Omaha Trail Design Sessions
Construction on the North Omaha Trail is set to begin this summer! Spark CDI is hosting five Community Design Sessions focused on Art & Creativity, Programming, History & Wayfinding, and Landscape & Technology to design the trail with local community input.

The North Omaha Trail will provide a critical transportation, economic, recreational, and public health link that will tie in to the Paxton Boulevard Trail and connect several North Omaha neighborhood anchors including the North Omaha transit station at 30th & Ames, the Kennedy Square redevelopment, the 24th & Lake Historic District, and eventually North Downtown.

Winter Riding!
Heartland B-cycle is available 365 days of the year, 24 hours a day so you can keep riding all winter long! Keep in mind some of our winter riding tips:
  • Layer up but don't over dress! Starting a little cold is alright. You will warm up as you ride!
  • If it is cold enough to be icy, go slow and use your rear break (right hand) to gently stop
  • Don't forget a hat and gloves!

Heartland B-cycle & Your Health

In response to COVID-19, Heartland B-cycle has increased our cleaning protocols. All of our bike technicians are wearing masks & gloves when they go out to sanitize, balance, and do bike maintenance. Before you ride, we suggest disinfecting all user contact points on the bike. Make sure to maintain 6 feet or more of distance between yourself & others. Don't forget to wash your hands after your trip with soap & water.
Heartland B-cycle is operated by Heartland Bike Share.
Heartland Bike Share is a 501c3 nonprofit that exists for the development, promotion, and operation of bike sharing programs throughout the Heartland region for the benefit of the general public, aimed at promoting health and quality of life as well as mitigating climate change and promoting the use of sustainable forms of transportation.
