New Stations have arrived!

Introducing our Mahoney State Park & Dodge River Side Golf Club Stations

June brought in warm weather and two new Heartland B-cycle stations perfect for your recreation needs. The stations, which were bought used from other former BCycle systems, were over a year in the making. We are pleased to now have stations at Mahoney State Park and Dodge Riverside Golf Club. We think they will be perfect for summer time adventures and exploring by bike.
Our station at Mahoney State Park was the first new station to go live. The station is located by the World Herald Cabins and the perfect way to explore the park. The second new station is located at Dodge Riverside Golf Club. Situated just past the Council Bluffs Levee Road Trail & across the street from Harrah's Stir Cove, this is our 7th station in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Summer Riding Tips

While summer doesn't officially start until Saturday, the warmer temperatures & summer day feelings are here! Here are some summer riding tips:
  • Bring plenty of water for your ride, one bottle of water per hour of riding is a good rule of thumb.
  • Pack snacks- even riding an e-bike burns calories & staying fueled makes for a better adventure!
  • Wear sunscreen & clothing with UPF to avoid sunburns. Not only do sunburns hurt, but they can cause dehydration leading to tired, dizzy feelings.
  • Want to sweat less? Ride an e-bike! You still need to pedal, but you'll arrive as your destination less sweaty than on a classic.
  • Have fun!

Heartland B-cycle & Your Health

In response to COVID-19, Heartland B-cycle has increased our cleaning protocols. All of our bike technicians are wearing masks & gloves when they go out to sanitize, balance, and do bike maintenance. Before you ride, we suggest disinfecting all user contact points on the bike. Make sure to maintain 6 feet or more of distance between yourself & others. Don't forget to wash your hands after your trip with soap & water.
Heartland B-cycle is operated by Heartland Bike Share.
Heartland Bike Share is a 501c3 nonprofit that exists for the development, promotion, and operation of bike sharing programs throughout the Heartland region for the benefit of the general public, aimed at promoting health and quality of life as well as mitigating climate change and promoting the use of sustainable forms of transportation.
