Next week is Year 6 SATS week.

It's hard to believe that it's this time of year already. This year is a culmination of not only hard work in Y6 but in all the other years too! The children have been working exceptionally hard and we recognise the challenge the children have in terms of endurance and emotionthis work can take. We couldn't be prouder of Y6 this year. Our hope is that next week gives the children an opportunity to celebrate the hard work they have done over the last four years.

Next week there will be instructions from Mr G about getting to school in time for breakfast! Don't be late or the pancakes will have run out!

This is your homework for this weekend. Please feel free to attempt in any order. You can tick them off as you go:

·   Go for a bike/scooter ride

·   Read a book

·   Watch your favourite TV programme

·   Smile

·   Eat Ice cream

·   Spend time with people you love

·   Laugh until your tummy hurts

·   Go outside and enjoy the weather

·   Go for a swim or a walk

·   Spend time on your favourite hobby

·   Rest

·   See friends

·   Run until you can’t run anymore

·   Cook or make something you like

·   Have more Ice cream

·   Play In your garden

·   Do something you have never done before.

If you feel you have to, you may revise, BUT you can only do this for maximum of one hour total.

Remember Mr G is in charge of worrying - you don’t need to.

You are all amazing and all the staff at Combe Martin Primary School couldn’t be more proud of you.

HAVE A FABULOUS WEEKEND.

For the rest of the Juniors we will soon be starting our end of year tests. Your class teachers will let you know the details. These tests are necessary to help us map the learning progress of the children. Please make sure your children are well rested and emotionally up for doing their best.

Some good news. Mr Hookes has successfully had his operation to replace BOTH hips. He is now bionic and hoping to get back to tap dancing soon. All being well he will be back with us to start the new school year in September.
Curriculum Audit

In a previous email I put forward an opportunity to help our school plan out it's new curriculum by commenting on examples of areas which build character around the national curriculum. So far 6 individuals have participated. Please give the form a look and comment where you can.

Thank you.

Click Here to access the form or find the link on the Welcome tab of the school website menu.

The previous communication read...

At school we are very keen to engage with our entire community in our curriculum review.

This is a further opportunity for parents to offer a view on the curriculum they would like to see in CMPS to supplement the National Curriculum.

We have completed this exercise with school leadership, teachers and parents.

Not all parents were able to attend and express a view at that meeting and we want to give everyone the opportunity to express a view, if they would like to.

We would also like stakeholders in the community to have the opportunity to put ideas forward. Local businesses, the library, the museum etc etc. Everyone's opinion will be read as we design the future curriculum provision for the children of Combe Martin.

Thank you for your participation.

As you are aware, we have the responsibility to regularly monitor the attendance of pupils and report back if there are cases which fall below the National Average.
We are monitored by the Educational Welfare Officer to ensure that we as a school are meeting the National Schools Attendance Average of 96.2%
On checking our data we presently stand at 95.8%.

The National Average is not out of our reach. We have approximately 9 weeks to increase our percentage.and to do this we must make every effort to get your children into school.  Please keep appointments  to a minimum and holidays as always are only authorised by the Head teacher.
