Tuesday 5th January 2021 - First day of Spring Term
Dear Parent and Carers,
I cannot quite believe that we are heading into the last week of term. We have done an amazing job in our community at keeping safe. I am really proud and appreciative of our staff and children for doing so well over this term, working hard and trying their best during a time that’s been understandably extremely difficult.

EY Nativity and KS1 Christmas Production - The show must go on!!
Although we are not able to put on our usual Christmas KS1 production this year, Class 1 and 2 have been working hard over the past few weeks to practise for a small Christmas performance in the hall. We will film the performance and share this with parents. Tiddlers have also been practising for their Nativity, their singing is fantastic and I am looking forward to seeing their performance this week too!

Carols Around the Christmas Tree
Our 'Carols Around the Tree' celebration is planned for this week to bring some festive cheer. The KS2 children have been practising Christmas Carols to perform around the tree. They are sounding brilliant! Thank you for all your hard work organising this Mrs Mortlock, the children are singing beautifully. We will record each class and share this with you.

Covid-19 Update - End of term Friday 18th December

Due to the late timing of the DfE announcement the schools of the Alumnis Multi Academy Trust have decided to remain open as planned on Friday 18th December. This will prevent any further disruption to learning and avoid causing inconvenience to our families.

School leadership will therefore be available to assist in the identification of close contacts of any positive cases for the six days after the final day of teaching, up to and including Christmas Eve.

Please email my email address if you receive a positive test result for your child up to and including the 24th December.

My only request is that you continue to be extra vigilant over the short time we have until Christmas, in order for us all to enjoy a happy and healthy Christmas with our families.

COVID-19 symptoms or general illness?
Below is a reminder of the symptoms to look out for and what you should do if any member of your household display these symptoms.

Main symptoms
The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.
What to do if you have symptoms
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus:
  1. Get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible.
  2. Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.
Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get your result.
For further information please see the link below.
Please can we ask that parents use Kiln Car park when collecting children. We currently have families waiting for siblings outside the school gate and there are an increasing number of cars using the road at this time. Please keep this area safe for everyone.
Thank You for your cooperation

We would like to invite all the children to wear a Christmas Jumper on Friday 18th December. These can be bought or homemade, let your imagination run wild!!
