Contact Tracing and End of Term 18th December 2020

Thursday 10th December 2020

Dear parents and carers,

On Tuesday evening,  the Department for Education announced that schools could end the term early on 17th December so that in the event of a member of the school community testing positive for Covid during the first week of the Christmas holiday, school leaders would not need to be available to engage in track and trace on Christmas Eve.

Due to the late timing of this announcement the schools of the Alumnis Multi Academy Trust have decided to remain open as planned on Friday 18th December. This will prevent any further disruption to learning and avoid causing inconvenience to our families.

School leadership will therefore be available to assist in the identification of close contacts of any positive cases for the six days after the final day of teaching, up to and including Christmas Eve.

Please email the school admin email address if you receive a positive test result for your child up to and including the 24th December.

We have done an amazing job in our community at keeping safe.  I am really proud and appreciative of our staff and children for doing so well over this term, working hard and trying their best during a time that’s been understandably and extremely difficult.

My only request is that you continue to be extra vigilant over the short time we have until Christmas, in order for us all to enjoy a happy and healthy Christmas with our families.

Thank you for your continued support.  If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Kind regards,

Gail Holmes
Executive Headteacher
