Over the last 3 years of data CMPS is significantly above the national average for progress made from KS1 to KS2 compared to similar schools.
Mrs Railston showed the children a video about kindness in assembly on Monday. She has posted the link to it (it's on the school website here). We have chosen to focus on kindness, this term, as one of the values from our 'school world' that the children created in the Autumn term. This is because some of the children, despite work being done in class and discussions with the teachers and TAs are choosing not to be kind. I hope there's not a single parent or teacher who would not talk to their child about kindness and the need for it in todays world. Please, if you haven't already, watch the video as a family and have a discussion about kindness. I have talked to a group today about kindness and how we can't really expect it it we don't give it. We also talked about when if kindness should run out. The world is so full of unkind events that making sure our children understand kindness is really important. The video promotes the idea that if you give kindness it will come back to you. It also promotes the school rules... be safe, be ready and be respectful.

Teacher Assessments Success...

We'd like to say a quick thank you to Mr Guyler and Mrs Vickery. They are both teachers at the end of a Key Stage. The DfE collects data from the end of the Key Stage to compile their standards information. Schools are moderated every 4 years to make sure the information returned is accurate. Both teachers assessments were evidenced accurately and to a very high standard, meaning that the school standards we achieve have been checked and found to be accurate. Well done to you both and to the teachers involved in our internal MAT moderation process.
Next Friday is our PTFA Summer Fayre. This is the PTFA's main fundraiser of the year. If you are able to donate any raffle prizes, tombola items, cakes , tins, bottles, etc etc we would be very grateful and these can be brought to the office at any time next week.
We hope to see you all at the event which is always a good night, lets all hope the weather is kind to us!!
The Sea School Rangers have a very exciting opportunity to go to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth for a Marine Wildlife Conference on Tuesday 25th June 2019.

XTREME COASTEERING

We are extending our deadline to book this fantastic opportunity until Monday 24th June 2019.  We have 13 pupils who have already secured their place.
We like to ensure that the children from CMPS leave the school with a much deeper understanding of some of the dangers around their village and how best to avoid them.    The school has used this local company previously had have been very pleased with the focus on safety.
The children leant how to safely enter the water, and with a combination of walking, scrambling and swimming make their way between different jump sites and places of interest.
Please look on our Twitter feed and Flicker link from the website to see the smiles on the children's faces from past visits.
We only have till Monday 24th June to confirm numbers, so please book now!

Next years Year 6 will shortly receive a letter informing them of the fantastic opportunity to visit our Countries Capital City of London on a four night Residential Visit. The date of the visit has been scheduled for 27th - 31st January 2020.
