Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! The children have had a great start to the new year. It was lovely to see them so smart in assembly on Monday. We talked about friendship and how we need to be kind and thoughtful towards others. In our assembly today it was wonderful to hear how our children who recieved the Head Teacher's Award have been applying their Super Learner skills and working so hard. Next week we will be back to Hot Chocolate Friday for the children who are continually fantastic!

As we move through this half term the children will be taking part in assessment. It's important for us to capture exactly where the children are in their learning, so they need to try hard and be coming to school fit and ready to go! We will report on their results in the mid-term reports at the end of the half term.

We are working hard on the residential visits to give your children an experience that will help develop their education. Sadly, we only have a handful of children signed up for the Bristol and London trips with some choosing Barton Hall over the planned educational experiences. The Barton Hall trip is an extra that we provide for parents who wish to give their children an additional experience. The value of the trip is great and I personally love the activities, but, if we are complicating the residential visits ethos because parents are misunderstanding the priorities we place on our learning, then we may have to reconsider our trips offer. Please support the educational aspect of the children's educational provision.

Click here to see our clubs. We have new clubs on offer including a Karate Club Run by 3rd Dan Will Homer.
We have some fantastic clubs running this half term but unfortunately not many children have signed up for them. If we only have one child in a sports club it makes it very difficult to provide the experience of matches, positions, game rules etc.
Please help us to provide these clubs by encouraging your child/ren to attend. We really want to give your children a good sporting experience and positively influence their development!!

Bristol, Year 4, Tuesday 12th - 15th February.
Pinkery Centre, Year 3, Thursday 14th March returning on Friday 15th March. (one night).
Pinkery Centre, Year 5, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th returning on Friday 29th March (two nights).

Year 4 Bristol Residential - 12th-15th February 2019.

This trip has now been closed. The total cost is £275. Final payment will need to be made by Friday 8th February 2019.

A child in Class 4 has lost their coat. It is named and is dark blue with a hood and a furry lining.
Two jumpers have gone missing from Class 1, both are named. A pair of stormtrooper wellies in a named bag and a grey hoodie with NY on the front are also missing. A child in class 2 has also lost a pair of black school shoes.
Please could you check your child's belongings. Thank you.

CENSUS DAY/CHANGE OF MENU

It is our school census day next Thursday 17th January 2019. As you know all infant children are entitled to a free school meal. On census day the school will get money for every infant child who has a school meal. Please help our school by booking in a free meal for your infant child. We have changed the menu as below. Thank you.

Please note the menu change:
Thursday: Fish fingers or vegetarian sausage wrap, chips or pasta, baked beans or sweetcorn and chocolate drop biscuit.
Friday: Pork bites or Italian Ragout with Jelly and Ice-Cream

Pinkery Centre Residential

Payments can now be paid via SCOPAY for the two Pinkery Residentials taking place in March.

Year 3:
Thursday 14th March returning on Friday 15th March, one night @ £50. Please could a deposit of £5 be paid by Friday 18th January 2019 in order for us to provide numbers to the centre.

Year 5:
Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th March returning on Friday 29th, 2 night stay @ £100. Deposit of £10 to be paid by Friday 25th January in order for us to provide numbers to the centre.

The rest of the balance will need to be paid before the day of departure. You can pay as little or as much as you like via SCOPAY.

FINAL MEETING FOR LONDON ON MONDAY 14TH JANUARY 2019 @ 3.15PM.

The final cost for transport is £70 for the train and the underground. This has been added to the original cost on SCOPAY.

The full amount needs to be paid before the 21st January 2019. You can pay as much as you wish as often as you wish on SCOPAY.

Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely break over the Christmas holidays. The children have settled back really happily into our routine this week and we are looking forward to a productive term.

Just a couple of reminders; please name your child’s clothing, water bottles etc and remember warm clothes and practical footwear for outside play and walks.

As always please let your child’s keyworker (or any other member of staff) know any relevant information such as changes at home. All information is confidential and we are here to help.
