Hi friends!

Welcome to your community of support for raising kids who are thoughtful, informed and brave about race.

There's so much happening at EmbraceRace! This past week, the work of the EmbraceRace community was lifted up along with that of five other changemaker organizations as part of NBC Universal's Erase the Hate campaign. We'll say more about the campaign soon and NBC Universal will be releasing a video featuring interviews with us and others. Our hope is that the increased visibility will bring more people and resources to this work. We'll see!

We've transitioned from sending out this newsletter twice a month to doing so monthly. Read on to catch up on this month in EmbraceRace and to get our top race and kids tidbits from around the web. We're also highlighting additional ways for you to plug into this community. So glad you're here!

Register now to join the next installment on February 27th at 5:30 pm PT/8:30 pm ET

We had a great Talking Race & Kids online conversation with Dr. Allison Briscoe-Smith and a couple hundred of you on live. Resilience and Joy were the focus and Allison and the community BROUGHT IT! Find the video and resources from that conversation in the Talking Race & Kids archives

On February 27th, we're excited to host the next conversation, Amplifying Youth Voices. We’ll be joined by members of Youth Funding Youth Ideas to talk about some ways adult allies can increase youth voice and youth leadership in the racial and social justice conversation and to share their model and best practices. Come on by - and, if you can't, register anyway and we'll send you a link to the recording later.

Sharing our race and raising kids questions and answers

We're starting a new feature this month. You submit your questions about race and raising kids and our team will find you some answers. Sometimes Andrew and Melissa will offer their thoughts and/or may pull in someone else to weigh in. Sometimes we'll throw the question out to the broader EmbraceRace community (you) in this newsletter. We're excited to field your questions and answers! Submit your questions here
