Dear Friends,

Our Gospel this weekend is the beautiful account of Jesus appearing to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. Even though the disciples had heard the news that Jesus was alive, their hearts were heavy and we are told that they looked downcast.

During this time of quarantine, maybe we have experienced the best version of ourselves, a “not the best version” of ourselves, and everything in between. We easily could be these same disciples with heavy hearts on the road to Emmaus, or maybe some days we feel more like Peter in our First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles who is filled with the Holy Spirit and joyfully proclaims Christ. Let Jesus speak to you in the depths of your heart, no matter what version of yourself you are today, and know that He will always be with us on the way. Be patient with yourself, find ways to laugh and bring joy to others, and know that you are deeply loved! We share a brief update for this upcoming weekend.

Video Mass for Sunday, April 26th. Here is the recorded Mass celebrated by Fr. Tim and Fr. John for this upcoming Sunday (the Third Sunday of Easter). Please see the worship aid to more fully enter into the prayer of the Mass. We will continue to make these videos available until the celebration of public Masses in the diocese resumes.

Parish Financial Support. Thank you to all who have sent in envelopes and other donations to the parish! We are so grateful. Please continue to do so as our important work of bringing Christ to others, especially the most vulnerable, still goes on. We would ask that you mail in your envelopes and contributions to our parish office (Old St. Mary Parish, 835 N Milwaukee St, Milwaukee, WI 53202), and our parish staff will process these.

Please do not hesitate to contact either Fr. Tim (Cell: 414-762-7986; kitzket@archmil.org) or Fr. John (Cell: 414-305-3824; baumgardnerj@archmil.org) if you need anything! Be assured of our love and prayers.

Sincerely, with love,
Fr. Tim and Fr. John
