“Speak, Mary, declaring
What you saw wayfaring […]
Yes, Christ my hope is arisen;
to Galilee He goes before you.”
(Easter Sequence)

Dear Friends,

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed, alleluia! On behalf of Fr. Tim and the Pastoral Staff of our Family of Four Parishes, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a very blessed Easter. We celebrate with joy this weekend the great “hope” of our faith – that God is always greater than any sickness, darkness, or even death.

The season of Easter in the church is always a celebration of “new things” and “new beginnings.” On Easter Vigil, we welcome our elect and candidates into full communion with the Catholic Church – a powerful gift of new faith for this wonderful group. We celebrate First Communions, Confirmation for our High School students, Baptisms, Weddings, and ordinations of new priests. The forty days of our Lenten journey now open up to these forty days of “new beginnings,” where God reminds us that He will always provide.

I pray that in these Easter days, the words of Cardinal Van Thuan might become our own:
“I have traveled along life’s road,
Where I have experienced both joys and sorrows;
but always I have been overflowing with hope
because I have our Lord and his mother Mary by my side.”

Happy Easter and blessings in these beautiful new days of Christ our hope!

Sincerely, with love,
Fr. John
Easter Sunday Video Mass. Here is the recorded Mass for Easter Sunday. We provide a worship aid to help you better enter into the prayer of the Mass. Please know that we will continue these recorded Masses indefinitely. We are so grateful to DV Productions, our Liturgists Mary Robertson and Meggie Moyer, and our cantor Amy Sobczak for their efforts in making our prayer as beautiful as possible.

Return of 7 am Daily Mass & Full Weekend Mass Schedule. We are pleased to announce that beginning on Saturday, April 10th, we will again offer our 4:30 pm Saturday Vigil Mass at Old St. Mary and our 5 pm Vigil Mass (with Confessions beforehand at 4 pm) at Saints Peter and Paul. We kindly ask you to continue to register for weekend Masses and to observe the COVID protocols in place. Beginning on Monday, April 12th, we will again be offering our 7 am Daily Mass at Old St. Mary Monday-Friday each week.

Holy Week at Home. Please see the Holy Week at Home page on our website, with resources for how to celebrate Holy Week in a different, but still special way. Some of the resources include links to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist’s livestreamed Holy Thursday and Good Friday liturgies, an at-home Holy Week newsletter from Terri Balash, our Director of Pastoral Care, virtual Stations of the Cross, and links to our online Sunday Masses.

Lenten Almsgiving. Family of Four parishes, you have been giving so generously to this year’s Lenten almsgiving campaign. Thank you. If you haven’t yet had a chance to give, it’s not too late to help lay the foundation to provide the “Possibility of Encounter” at the new Archdiocesan Ministry Center at All Saints. Please give generously by writing a check to your parish and including “Lenten Almsgiving” in the memo line. Thank you!

Bulletin. Please be sure to read the Family of Four Parishes Bulletin to get this week’s updates! Click here to view the bulletin or click the picture below. We have a bulletin insert this week, which can be found on the Bulletin page of the parish website.

Parish Financial Support. We continue to be humbled by your financial support of the parish during these tender and tenuous times. Thank you so much, it has been amazing to witness the generosity of so many! Please mail in your envelopes and contributions to our parish office (Old St. Mary Parish, 835 N Milwaukee St, Milwaukee, WI 53202), and our parish staff will process these.

Please do not hesitate to contact Fr. Tim (Cell: 414-762-7986; kitzket@archmil.org) or Fr. John (Cell: 414-305-3824; jbaumgardner@ffpmke.org) if you need anything! Be assured of our love and prayers.
Please be sure to check the parish website for the most current updates:
