Hi <<First Name>>,

Welcome to the first edition of the Snow Leopard, the Everett Alumni Foundation newsletter! If you don't know me, I'm Maira Sutton, Executive Director and 2009 graduate of the Everett Program, formerly GIIP. We will be sending out this bi-annual update to let you know about news, upcoming events, job openings, mentorship opportunities, and other tidbits related to our community of alumni and friends of the Everett Program. To get more regular updates, check out the Stay Connected section below.

Before we get down to it, I first wanted to make sure you know what this is all about. The Everett Alumni Foundation is a 501c3 accredited non-profit. Our goal is two-fold:

  1. To build a strong community network around the Everett Program,
  2. To provide mentorships and project grants to students currently enrolled in the Program.

We want to build upon the solid foundation of trust and hard work that has, and continues to make, the Everett Program such a success at UC Santa Cruz. As I'm sure all of you alumni know, networks are so, so valuable and they need fostering. We're starting with a newsletter as one of several ways we can make sure to spread important news and bring this community closer together.

Meet the Board

The Board is meeting every week to work on schemes to achieve our mission, but we can't do it alone. Only you can make this community thrive. You can do that by joining our periodic meet-ups or being available to chat with an Everett student or Fellow about their current project or future career endeavors. Let us know about jobs or new career opportunities in your orbit, to share among the community. In the coming year, we'll let you know about those, and other ways you can participate.  Learn More About The Board Members >>

So with that, I present you the first Snow Leopard. Keep reading below and we'll introduce you to our Foundation's Board, give you a brief update about the Everett Program, and tell you about upcoming meet-ups to re-connect with fellow Everettes in your area.

P.S. We'll be doing a proper fundraising campaign for student project grants in the coming weeks, but if you'd like to chip in now to help us cover our basic costs, you can do so by using this donate page on Paypal.

Fellows are Graduating!

The 2016 graduating class of Fellows is coming, and they are amazing! They have done projects in LA, South Africa, Santa Cruz, and beyond. Everett Fellows are some of the most dedicated, innovative, and skilled students to come out of UCSC, but that means nothing without a community to guide them. Finding work or a path after college is difficult and they would love nothing more than to talk with someone who has been there before. Maybe you can help? Check out the fellows approaching graduation and drop them a line! Click to Learn About/Contact Graduating Fellows >>
