The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at noon.

The GM provides an opportunity for you to meet the 2019-20 MRSA Executive Board, learn about the work of various standing committees, and to review the approved 2019-2020 budget. The 2019-22 Strategic Plan will be introduced at this meeting.

Negotiations Update

Negotiations are on schedule and the teams are working well together. We are very hopeful that this long process can be concluded within the next few months.

Committee Update

PD Committee Update:

MRSA PD Day was held on May 1 at Grey Eagle Resort and Casino. We set a new record for the number of staff who registered (over 250 people at one time) and for 214 staff in attendance.

The keynote by Clare Daly and the many breakout speakers worked with the staff on setting goals and how to achieve them.

What we know everyone loved, was the quantity and quality of door prizes, large prizes, and swag, for which we thank all of our sponsors for their generous donations.

We have already had an outstanding response on the PD Day survey, please fill it in for a chance to win a prize (one for those who did attend, and one for those who did not). Thank you to all who attended. We look forward to seeing you at  the next PD Day.

EDT Committee Update:

Complementary Continuing Education courses can be enrolled in the day before the class starts, as long as there are available seats. EDT & MRSA are working with Cont Ed on a way to advertise the list of free courses per semester for your consideration.

To register in person for the free courses:

  • Go to HR Reception (E231) and request and complete the Complementary Course Registration Request paper form
    • Your manager / supervisor will need to sign off on the form if the course is offered during the work day
  • Take the completed form to Continuing Education Reception & Registration (EC3100).

If you want to guarantee your seat in any class, pay up front to register and then you can apply to EDT Funding program for reimbursement.  EDT funding can also be used for the courses not eligible for free registration.

As Cont Ed operates under a revenue-generating model, courses that require additional costs for each student, such as online delivery courses, cannot be offered with free registration.  Similarly, Occupational programs (eg. Massage Therapy) and other application based programs are also ineligible for the free registration. Course materials are also not included in the free registration.

Spring EDT Application Period is Open

If you have any professional or personal development courses that begin between May 1 - June 30, you can apply for funding through the MRSA EDT Committee.

You must apply by using the EDT database.

The spring application period closes May 31.

If you have any further questions, please contact the EDT Committee at
