It is frustrating to spend hours looking for the best academic resources and support and still end up struggling with inefficient routines, inconsistent results, time-consuming efforts, and stress. We have a solution.

With the end of the calendar year quickly approaching, your focus may be shifting to family activities and holiday celebrations to properly wrap up 2019. Your child's school year, however, is just starting to pick up momentum. Whether you had a parent-teacher conference this month or it's coming up soon, the ultimate goal is for families and educators to walk away with an action plan to ensure that your child reaches his academic potential and continues to develop her social skills. 

Take in the team's input (student, parents, teachers) as you consider adding the following tools to your action plan to meet your child's short- and long-term goals. Take a peek at the resources we created for elementary school students, for home and classroom use. Forward them to teachers and family members to get a conversation going.

Homework Planner for Students (self-monitoring, time management, MAGIC!)

In addition to listing assignments, test dates, and special events, this individualized planner allows students to log estimated vs. actual time taken to complete tasks. Students also check in with themselves to evaluate what worked, what didn’t, and to set academic and personal goals accordingly. It even includes a homework checklist.

It's feelings time! Toolkit (break-time, self-regulation, and mindfulness tools)

As adults, we all need space and time to check in with ourselves and regroup. It's no different for our kiddos. A designated calm spot at school and at home (along with the goodies you keep in that spot) have the power to build habits of wellness, self-regulation, and mindfulness from an early age. Even more good news! Improved socio-emotional skills reduces behavior issues in the classroom and at home.
