We have 2 new Bursary Opportunities for Indigenous and African Nova Scotian students. The first focuses on conference/professional development support for current Dalhousie students and the second addresses entrance requirements support.

These awards recognize an outstanding contribution to the global health community at Dalhousie through: demonstrated leadership in global health; work experience with marginalized communities; engagement in global health research; mentorship in global health; promotion, development and enhancement of global health at Dalhousie.

Submissions Due: March 5, 2017. The theme for 2017 is the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Do you have outstanding photos that tell a compelling story about your global health experience? Each year the global health office at Dalhousie hosts the Global Health Photo Contest to recognize these beautiful images and inspiring stories.

Every woman, every child: best practices in strengthening the lives of women and children in conflict
Tues. March 7, 2017 @ 6pm. Paul O'Regan Hall, Halifax Central Library. The panel, hosted by the Canadian Red Cross in partnership with Dalhousie University Global Health Office, will highlight some of the challenges faced when working to strengthen the lives of women and children in these contexts, while also discussing some of the best practices in providing assistance, relief and healthcare to these individuals and families.
