Opportunity: African Nova Scotian Health Science Camp Counsellor

Application Deadline: April 21, 2016.  Camp Dates: July 3-8, 2016 .  PLANS (Promoting Leadership in health for African Nova Scotians) is looking to recruit and hire up to five (5) Camp Counsellors to support the African Nova Scotian Health Sciences Summer Camp as part of a recruitment initiative aimed at increasing the interest in the health professions among students of African descent in Nova Scotia.

2016 African Nova Scotian Health Science Summer Camp

Application Deadline: May 4, 2016 @ 4pm.  Camp Dates: July 3-8, 2016.  Are you in Grade 8, 9, 10 or 11? Are you of African descent? Are you interested in a health career? YES? Then this camp is for you! 5 full days of interactive, hands-on activities introducing a variety of health professions, including nursing, medicine and dentistry, and fun recreational activities.

A Celebration of the Humanities - Inaugural Conference

May 6-8, 2016. Dalhousie University. This two-day conference to be held at Dalhousie University will become an annual event that celebrates the diverse and exciting field of medical humanities.

Bethune Round Table 2016

June 3 & 4, 2016. Dalhousie University. Building Collaborative Team to Strengthen Global Surgery. The Bethune Round Table (BRT) is an annual interdisciplinary scientific meeting hosted at a Canadian academic centre to discuss challenges and solutions to improving surgical care to underserviced and marginalized populations in low- and middle-income countries.
