Show Up and Write Thursdays (SUWT) Thursday mornings. Next session Feb 21, 2019.  Dal Global Health offers a "show up and write thursdays" (SUWT) space to write with peers, discuss the challenges and successes of writing about your research, and learn new writing tips.
Community of Practice: Global Health monthly meetings. Next session Mar 20, 2019. 12-1PM.  Dal Global Health is establishing a Community of Practice for Global Health, designed to work with faculty, students and staff towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with a focus on improving health outcomes globally.
Indigenous Health: Kitpu Wise March Break Health Science Camp
Application Deadline: Feb. 22, 2019.  Camp Dates: March 18-22, 2019. Dalhousie University.  Indigenous youth (aged 15-18) are invited to the Dalhousie campus for a week of hands on exposure to clinical health education programs and cultural experiences.

Nomination Deadline: Mar 4, 2019.  The Global Health Awards were established to recognize the outstanding contribution made to the global health community by our Medical faculty and residents as well as students in Medicine, Health and Dentistry. Nominate someone today!
Call for Submissions: Global Health Photo Contest
Submission Deadline: Mar 4, 2019.  Do you have outstanding photos that tell a compelling story about your global health experience?  Each year we host the Global Health Photo Contest to recognize these beautiful images and inspiring stories.  This contest is open to students, residents, faculty and staff at Dalhousie.  Submit today!
Film Screening: The Girls of Meru
March 8, 2019. 7-9 PM. Halifax Central Library.  Screening and discussion with the filmmaker. Over five years, acclaimed filmmaker Andrea Dorfman follows the heartbreaking yet uplifting story of the girls of Meru and their brave steps toward meaningful equality for girls worldwide.Presented in partnership with Dalhousie University’s Global Health Office, International Development Studies & The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 2019 Weld Kernohan Lecture: Dr.Ojistoh Horn
Thurs. Mar. 21, 2019. Indigenous Perspectives in Western Medicine.  Dr. Ojistoh Horn is a Mohawk from the community of Kahnawake. She attended medical school at the University of British Columbia, then completed McGill's Family Medicine residency program with a fellowship in Maternal and Child Health.
PLANS Summer Porgrams: African Nova Scotian youth exploring careers in health.
Applications Due: May 3, 2019.  African Nova Scotian students from across Nova Scotia who are interested in a career in health are invited to apply for these summer programs.  Camps take place during the month of July in Nova Scotia.
