Happy Summer Solstice! It's hard to believe that we're more than halfway though 2016.

If you're in the area, please join us this Saturday (June 25th) in Durham, NC at the LRoomBNB for the next stop on the Lez Talk Book Tour. LaToya Hankins, Krystal A. Smith, and Eternity Philops will be reading and signing copies of the anthology, so be sure to stop by to chat with some of your favorite Black lesbian authors. I'll be in attendance to talk more about our collaboration on the anthology.

Lez Talk Book Tour Atlanta

Last month, several Lez Talk contributors participated in a reading and discussion at Charis Books and More in Atlanta, Georgia. We had a wonderful time, and would like to thank Elizabeth Anderson, Director, for her warmth and generosity. Here a few photos from the event:

Golden Crown Literary Society

In July, I will be representing BLF Press at the GCLS Conference. "The Golden Crown Literary Society (GCLS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer organization whose mission is education and the promotion and recognition of lesbian literature." You can learn more about the organization by visiting their website. If you are in attendance, please come up and say hello!

2016 OutWrite LGBT Book Festival

BLF Press will be one of many exhibitors at the OutWrite Book Festival in Washington, D. C. on August 6th. If you are at the festival, please stop by and see Stephanie and Krystal.  We'll have signed copies of Lez Talk for purchase and goodies to give away.

Solace: Writing, Refuge, and LGBTQ Women of Color

Work on our next anthology is under way, and we have notified accepted contributors and mailed out the contracts. We'll be revealing the cover soon, and we'll be sharing more information about this project, including the projected publication date, in coming weeks.

Lez Talk Books Radio

Have you listened to the LTBR show? Every other Tuesday Stephanie and Lauren chat with Black women writers about their work.  Listen to archived episodes on our YouTube channel.  Soon, you'll be able to download the show as a podcast on iTunes. We'll keep you posted.

Tomorrow evening, Lauren and Stephanie will be staring a new series on LTBR entitled "Topics in Black Lesbian Publishing." Over the next several weeks, we'll be discussing issues like audience, genre, various types of editing, cover design, marketing, reference and fact-checking, copyediting, traditional, indie, and self-publishing, and more.  If you want to learn more about how to publish your best book, listen in on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m.  If you have questions or would like for us to cover a topic, email us at

The first episode in the series, "The State of Black Lesbian Publishing," will air June 21, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. To listen live, visit
