Thank you for taking the time to read my September community newsletter!
Parliament is back in session and it has been a busy start already. Small business tax changes and senior's issues have been hot topics.
Did you know October 1 is National Seniors Day? I hope you'll consider sending back my mail survey on senior's issues hitting your mail boxes this month. If you are in Cranbrook at the end of the month be sure to swing by my booth at the Senior's Expo at the Heritage Hotel.
You can find updates about all my work on my website, and by following me onFacebookand Twitter. My website also includes a list of upcoming events, so be sure to check back regularly to find out where else I'll be!

IN THE HOUSE: Small Business, GIS Benefits and Border Services
After meeting with local Chambers in the riding earlier this month, I returned to Ottawa and delivered a statement on the government's proposed changes to small business tax reform.
I was disappointed by the Minister of National Revenue's answers
when my colleague and I asked questions about recent changes to GIS benefit harming couples when they are forced to involuntarily live apart due to health reasons.
The government is refusing to negotiate a new contract with the CBSA and in a recent public service job survey CBSA ranked dead last in employee satisfaction. I am proud to speak in favour of the CBSA and its workers' rights.
IN THE RIDING: Cannabis FAQ
Last March, I hosted a telephone town hall to discuss the proposed Cannabis Act. I received a wide range of questions on the topic. I submitted those questions to all three different departments in charge of drafting the new bill and I've prepared a roundup of the most common questions and answers here.
