Christ Church Happenings - February 12, 2020
Christ Episcopal Church
382 Boblett St., Blaine, WA USA

Christ Episcopal Church is an affirming and inclusive Christian community. Our members and leaders strive through love, worship and service to welcome all people just as God created them. No matter where you are on your journey of faith, our welcome knows no boundaries of age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, or economic condition. We believe that God delights in the diversity of creation and so do we.

Join us for Holy Eucharist, Sundays @ 10:00 am.

A Call Committee is being formed as we wait in hope for a candidate for Vicar for our congregation. The Committee will be responsible for reviewing candidates' materials, meeting with the candidates, and strict confidentiality is required. 5-7 members are needed, and we have some suggested guidelines from the Canon to the Ordinary regarding Committee makeup. Nominations will be considered by the Bishop's Committee. If you would like to nominate someone or volunteer for this Committee, please contact Doug Dahl.
Christ Church's position has been posted on the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia's job listings, so we are making progress!
Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a priest for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen (BCP, p. 818, Prayer 13).

Dear Christ Church Family,
I’m not very good with words. I get tongue tied when trying to speak in front of people. So I’m going to try and put down my thoughts and feelings in a note.
The love and generosity you all have shown to April and me through my time in the hospital and since is overwhelming. At first I was uncomfortable because neither of us is good at asking for or receiving help. But after sitting with this for a couple of weeks (and taking fewer pain pills) I have been shown that our church family is kind hearted, caring, sensitive, compassionate, always willing to help others in need.  This is something I have always known on one level, but when on the receiving end of this love it is breathtaking and humbling.
Thank you all for the prayers, the food, the visits, covering my commitments in the church, and the money that helped allow April to stay in Seattle and care for me during my unexpected 23 days in the hospital. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
