Dear UMA Families,
Thank you for participating in conferences these last two days.  This partnership ensures a time for student's to shine, to reflect and redirect their learning.  I know you have all overcome some challenges and some challenges are still out there ahead of each of us. Families are encouraged to reach out to our school support team when in need, their contact information is listed below.
Amazon Smile
If you are an Amazon shopper, help the school by making purchases through the Amazon Smile weblink where .5% of the total purchase is donated back to UMA. With Amazon Prime Day deals on October 13 & 14, this will be a great and easy way to donate to Upper Mississippi Academy.
 
Family Resources
Each week the Student Support Team will be passing along resources that may be of interest to you.  We strive to highlight a variety of topics and types of resources including but not limited to articles, podcasts, clinics, and government programs or agencies.  If you have a specific need and would like help finding resources please feel free to contact the following staff, we would like to talk with you:

Nexus- FACTS Family Healing
The child and family mental health experts at Nexus-FACTS Family Healing are offering free online support to parents through the virtual webinar series, The Resilient Parent. In the monthly webinar, parents will learn new ways to help their child develop and build mental strength, from coping with stress to building confidence.  The free 60-90 minute webinars are offered on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. On October 14 Sara McGee, Clinical Supervisor at Nexus-FACTS Family Healing, will present Plugging into Your Child’s Emotions: Understanding and Responding to Your Child’s Stress.  For further information call: 763-551-8640

Saint Paul Fire Department
Families that reside in St. Paul are eligible for Project Safe Haven with the St. Paul Fire Department.  After completing a homeowner checklist, fire personnel can assist with installation of free smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.  To sign up call 651-228-6273 or visit the fire department website.

ENROLLMENT AT UMA
We think Upper Mississippi Academy is pretty special and unique. If your family thinks so too, please let friends and neighbors know about our hands-on, experiential learning.  We still have open seats in all grades for the 2020-2021 school year.  Our website features a virtual tour for those interested in learning more about us.  Families interested in attending should complete an online 2020-2021 application.
