COVID-19 Rapid Tests
Students were sent home with a rapid COVID test kit which we recommend students use the day before returning to school on Monday, January 3 to ensure they are healthy to return. Each kit contains two tests, feel free to use the second test for other families members if needed.
Governor Walz announced expanded hours at COVID-19 community testing sites in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Duluth. Beginning Monday, December 20, the Minneapolis and St. Paul state community testing sites will open two hours early at 9 a.m. All three sites offer rapid antigen swab and saliva PCR testing.
COVID-19 testing is critical to slowing the spread of COVID-19 variants, including Delta and Omicron. Learn more about all of Minnesota’s community testing sites.
Get Vaccinated!
All eligible Minnesotans are encouraged to get vaccinated and boosted. Minnesota is offering boosters at the state’s Mall of America (16+) and MSP Airport (18+) vaccine sites as well as other state-run and state-hosted 5- to 11-year-old vaccine clinics, including those hosted at schools.
Minnesotans can find boosters anywhere vaccines are offered. For ages 18 and over, the booster dose does not have to be the same brand of vaccine as your initial series. Minnesotans 16 and 17 years old must get a Pfizer booster shot. Visit mn.gov/vaccine or contact a provider to get boosted and vaccinated. Find information specifically about boosters here.
Friendly reminder students need to wear a mask while on school buses to and from school each day. They should not leave the house without a mask, a required school supply.
