Early Giving Update – Give to the Max
Thursday is Give to the Max Day when thousands of Minnesotans participate in this statewide effort to support vital nonprofits and schools across Minnesota who “help Minnesota shine a little brighter!” The guiding value of GiveMN since its inception 12 years ago is that giving is a way that people can put their personal values in action by supporting causes they care about, doing good work across Minnesota. Give to the Max is a celebration of generosity, and an opportunity to join forces to better our community and state.
As we approach Give to the Max Day, the Upper Mississippi GiveMN Committee extends thank you's to early Give to the Max gifts from parents and supporters in helping us reach the $3090 target to tap a $1500 Early Giving challenge match. If one does the math, this means that Upper Mississippi Academy has reached $4,590 or 46% toward our $10,000 overall goal! We are grateful to all those able to provide this early giving support, and invite those remaining to be part of these final days in giving what you can to support student learning opportunities at Upper Mississippi Academy. No gift is too small and all gifts are valued! We have until midnight Thursday, 11/18, to reach our goal of $10,000!
The Committee recognizes that Upper Mississippi Academy is currently going through a challenging period. A constant, though, through this time is that we ALL recognize and value our students and their learning at Upper Mississippi Academy. A belief held strongly at Upper Mississippi Academy is that students matter and that learning is a personal process. We recognize and value that each student has their own individual learning style, as well as natural and developed abilities, passions, and personal identity, and that these qualities must be nurtured and tapped for students to move toward their academic and lifelong goals.
It is in this spirit that Upper Mississippi Academy is focusing this year’s Give to the Max fund drive on supporting and expanding unbudgeted learning opportunities and experiences for students both in and out of the classroom, plus investing in sustainable equipment to facilitate project, clubs and other communication.
We believe, no gift is too small to help make a difference. We believe, even during difficult times, that we can learn and grow together as we work to build a stronger school community. We believe that together we will prepare our students to be critical thinkers, to navigate and negotiate our changing world, and work toward justice and respect human dignity.
We thank you for considering how you can support Upper Mississippi today as we participate in Minnesota’s Give to the Max Day.
