What's Happening in the Classroom
In response to the racial injustices occurring in our community, UMA staff called upon the school to do something. UMA’s first step in creating a space for our students and staff to learn about power, privilege, and how to effect change in a democratic society was a Racial Justice Teach-In on April 22, 2021.

With sessions hosted by staff, students and staff were able to hear and learn from amazing and impactful guest speakers on a variety of topics throughout the day.  Some session speakers shared their personal experiences of being an activist on the front lines for racial justice, and the day even included speakers from California and Louisiana.
School Staff Appreciation
UMA certainly felt the love and support of our school families this week. An amazing spread of coffee and treats from two UMA families awaited us on Thursday morning.  This was followed by a yummy lunch from Afro Deli compliments of the UMA PTO.  Our hearts and bellies were literally and figuratively full.

Thank you, thank you! The generosity truly made our day.
Summer Activities
