Introducing one of our members

Lynnford Jones

"Lynnford Jones was born in the little mining village of Crynant near the town of Neath, South Wales and was raised in the secluded valley of the river Dulais. To counter the harsh realities of working in the pit and the iron collier men, he was to be seen sketching in and around the village. He was taught art in one of the local schools whose teacher had a profound influence on him. He worked as an engineering draughtsman then got a BSc and lectured for twenty years whilst still keeping alive his dream of being a painter. After an early retirement, he followed the path to artistic awareness, abandoning figurative painting for the world of Abstract Expressionism."

Introducing our member

Lynn Gould

"I have been painting for about 10 years now as a hobby/pastime. I started by attending drawing classes until I had found my own style and a medium I was happy with. I then progressed by practicing at home, reading books by other artists to get different ideas and attending art clubs. I am currently a member of The Friendly Art Group in Ystalyfera.
I mainly paint with acrylics and pastels and paint various subjects including flowers, landscapes, and more recently animals. I find painting an enjoyable, very therapeutic and interesting pastime."

Introducing our member

Jocelyn Prosser

"I am an intuitive artist working in mixed media. My work could possibly be described as outsider, primitive or visionary. The idea of joining and mixing components to create art is a personal compulsion. I have always collected and storing interesting objects.

My work reflects to create something new from something old. I have a particular interest in collage and assemblages. I have had several solo and mixed exhibitions."
