I would like to thank all of you that have offered words of encouragement, advice on places not to be missed, and financial support for my ongoing journey!
Here are some of the Collector Quotes I received:
“Venice is one of the most magical places in the world. When I have been there I feel transported in time, as if I was back in the Eighteenth century, the hey-day of La Serenissima.”
"Another artist I know is in the middle of a trip/pilgrimage from France to Spain doing a painting every 5 miles. She has been faced with some challenges as she is walking 1,000 miles with a donkey as pack animal and 1 or 2 other people as support. She funded this much the same way you are."
"I’d like to help you because I love having more art and artists traveling the world spreading goodness. I’d prefer just doing it and not having any awkward ‘owing’ or anything like that."
"What a great year for opportunity. I would like to put in my order for a couple of Russian pieces. One 12 x 16 and another 8 x 10 ..also a couple of one on one workshop days would be very helpful about now. Keep me posted. I will mail the check today. Paint like the wind!"
"Good morning & Happy New Year !
This sounds like an amazing opportunity and hopefully some exposure for your career. That being said We would love to participate at the highest level. Also with all that you have going on we would like to take our painting and donate it back to you. Then you can sell it and help raise some additional dollars towards your expenses!"
“I assume by now you have seen the HBO or Showtime documentary called "The Price of Everything" about the New York art market, artists, critics, dealers. auctions, etc. Quite a good program.
That one critic in the film makes two good points. He says "Envy is the enemy every artist must fight his entire life". Never give in to it.
And he says "Don't ever, ever, ever, ever, ever become an artist unless you absolutely can't help it".
You couldn't help it and I predict some great paintings lie ahead in 2019.“
“Thought I'd share this with you.”
I’ve been in this business for 30 years now and I have never seen this before. Really sums it up though. : )
Thank you to all of you who have contributed and to those of you that are still considering it!
