Hopefully this finds you well.
Summer is almost here in mid coast Maine.
Just a quick update on what will be happening this summer.
I am gently moving away from doing the Plein Air Events, Cape Ann the exception this October, but will be judging instead, definitely a different side of that coin. : )
However with that said that does not mean I am not continuing to work in plein air, quite the opposite. In fact, just getting back from a productive trip to Provincetown MA. with fellow painter Kirk McBride.
Also I will be participating in the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust Paint for Preservation in mid July which is a Plein Air Event but not like the usual venue. No Judging, no frames.

I will be headed to England in August to paint as well as Madrid later this October to study the works of Sorolla. That later trip has been on my radar for many years so I am very happy to finally have this opportunity.

Here is an unfinished copy of a Sargent painting that I did recently that I have always admired. You learn so much in studying and copying the Masters hence my reasoning for going to Madrid.
