INCOMING TRANSMISSION FROM THE BEAVERTOWN TOURIST BOARD… IT’S TIME FOR A STAYCATION.

Welcome aboard this inbound flight to The Living Room. This week’s virtual blast of all things Beavertown is designed to whisk you away to a place that feels just like home, and, well… is home. Sink into the sofa cushions, relax and let us take care of the rest.

This week, we’ve launched STAYCATION.
A super fruity pale ale that tastes like a holiday in a can.

We might not be able to get to Bali, Bangkok or Barbados any time soon but that doesn't mean Summer is cancelled. That’s why we brewed Staycation, bringing the tropical climate to your living room so you can escape from the comfort of your sofa. Staying home for summer never tasted this good, and to top it off it’s good for others too: we are donating all profits of Staycation to food bank charity The Trussell Trust, helping everyone have a better time whilst staying home.

So, pack away your home office, your laptop, the newspapers. Turn off the TV, put your phone on flight mode and open a window. Anything that reminds you of the outside world: we want it gone for the next few minutes. Take a moment for yourself.

FEATURED  |  STAYCATION
Summer holiday plans, canned.

Staycation is a full-on tropical 5.2% fruit punch, with a low 22 IBUs of bitterness, soft mouthfeel and a dry finish. Crushable, quashable, call it what you like, you are going to want to ease back, feel the sand between your toes and let the warm breeze take you away to wherever you wanted to go – except for maybe skiing.

Forget Boeing 737; we’ve used Lallemand BRY-97, a West Coast ale yeast. The grain bill is made up of Extra Pale, Flaked Wheat, Oats, Golden Naked Oats and Carapils for that sun-kissed golden glow.

Serve chilled, in a glass, with a cocktail umbrella. Now, pull that tab and float away.

Staycation is available on our webshop for £2.35 a can, with all proceeds going to The Trussell Trust. The cheapest holiday you’ve ever had, guaranteed!

THE FABULOUS GAMMA RAY CHRONICLES:
A Beavertown Serial | Chapter 1, pt 3

With a little (okay, a lot) of help from Nanobot, Sabro and Simcoe have managed to escape Earth in a hijacked ship.

“Do it again!” Simcoe and Nanobot are playing around, disintegrating Simcoe’s hand with the ray gun and timing how fast Nanobot can reconstruct it. Sabro is concentrating hard on not crashing the ship. “I think I’m getting the hang of the controls now...” CRUNCH. “Just a small meteor that time!” they chime. “Look, stop playing around and remember the mission. HOPS is counting on us.”

Nanobot takes over the controls and heads for the nearest solar system as they both start fiddling with the radio. It crackles into life. “Hello? This is GAMMA 3786 and GAMMA 1321 of the Humans Of Peace Society-” urges Sabro. “We come in peace!” adds Simcoe, warranting an eye roll from Nanobot.

An automated message comes over the speaker… “Hello. Thank you for contacting Planet Lallemand BRY-97. We are out of office right now; we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Thank you”. Weird. They veer to the left and try another. Once again, their attempt at contact is met with an automated message: “Planet Torulaspora has gone fishin’. Please leave a message after the tone”.

This happens over again. Every planet in the solar system is either on holiday, out of office or screening their calls at the very least. We all need a little me time now and again.

Sabro begins to fret, “we’re supposed to be taking action! How are we supposed to save Earth if no-one’s home?!”. Simcoe leans back in their chair “Nope, you heard 'em. This is a holiday: no action, just relaxin’”. It was about time they had a vacation.

Nanobot BLEEPS and jumps into action. In the blink of an eye, the flight deck is transformed. They are both stand knees deep in black sand from the volcanic black hole region of 6th dimension, each with a cold drink in hand. The ship has slowed down, gently riding waves of radiation emanating from a nearby supernova. The computer screen dashboard is lit up in bright colours: Welcome to Club Tropigamma.

OUR TRUSSELL TRUST PLEDGE
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has bought a limited edition Covid Arms print from our Webshop. £33 of each sale goes to The Trussell Trust and so far we've raised £957 of our £5,000 goal from prints alone! Sales of Staycation will further help us to reach (and hopefully smash) this target, and it’s all down to you lovely folk.
